Catalan Dragons Away

Post by Frazzlerock »

Hey there fellow pie eaters,

Myself & two mates are looking at organising a weekend away when the Warriors play Catalans away in 2013. Just looking for advice, suggestions on the best (cheapest) way of getting there, looking at doing all weekend going on the friday and coming back on the monday.

also any suggestions of where's best to stay? what the nightlife is like etc

Look forward to hearing from you all
Cheers

perpy is quite dead on a sunday. I would suggest Canet Plage on the beach more happening and frequent buses. Use booking.com very easy
travel, easyjet or ryanair to any local airport, trains will get you to perpignan cheaply. If you DIY you save a lot of cash compared to the club packages

like A+L says canet Plage is a great place, stayed there a few times,

if your flying - fly to gerona then sort transfers with Dave Foti of Catalan sports tours or jump a cab from the airport , its about an hour and half drive away though.

Keep Wigan "Wigan"

Does anyone know if the game is in Perpignan or Montpellier?

There are usually whispers or TBC dates flying around. Some people in the know officially with the club on here generally mention something when the fixtures are released so, as that hasn't happened, assume it will be Perpignan. Last time I rang the club before I booked anything.

I asked Andy who organises the CTW trips for the Warriors and he told me the only on the road game for Catalan Dragons is Hull HR so it's the Wigan game is in Perpignan
I was going to buy a book called "The Power of Positive Thinking", and then I thought: What good would that do?
