Toulouse and Catalans away
Now with the season approaching and the prospect of restrictions easing what are people's plans for these 2 away games.
Toulouse Away
We are doing 3 nights (Thursday - Sunday) direct from Edinburgh £55 return with Ryanair staying in the Ibis Pont.
Catalan Away
We are flying direct to Toulouse from Edinburgh (Thursday-Sunday) £37 return with Ryanair. 1 night in Toulouse and then train to Perpignan on the Friday for 2 nights . Return to Toulouse by train Sunday morning for flight to Edinburgh.
Daughter doing the same trips only her flights are from Gatwick as she is London based .
Can't wait for the start of the season and get some serious RL under our belts
Regards EW

Re: Toulouse and Catalans away
I won’t be going to these fixtures & probably won’t go in future because of the Covid situation.
It was okay when we just had the cats & dogs we put them in cattery/kennels & we both went for a week for the Catalan game.
But now, I have chickens! And I say “I” because I look after them, only occasionally will Stephen sweep up for me but he draws a line at that & won’t clean the two coops (chickens are continual eating & pooping machines )
So although the last time I went, I went with friends for five days, that was & will be the last time while I have the Chooks! It will be only the third time I/we have missed since Catalan entered SL.
The other two times where 2012/13 when we played in Montpelier as that was when Stephen had oesophageal cancer.
But then in 2014 we not only went to Catalan away, we also went to Australia for six weeks for the WCC

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Toulouse and Catalans away
You've piqued my interest. Will look into it.
Re: Toulouse and Catalans away
Been looking into these myself.
I don’t travel all that much so was expecting the flights to take around an hour but after searching, some of the flights take 4 hours or more!
I’m going to see what the new travel partner with Wigan will be doing.
I live in Staffordshire and new to rugby league (started going last season) so lots of these grounds and places are new to me so can’t wait for the season to start and go to some games

Flights arn't that long you have to take in the time difference between the countries . All take off and landing times are usually quoted as local time

And some flights/airlines can involve lengthy stopovers en route.EDINBURGH-WARRIOR wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:22 pm Flights arn't that long you have to take in the time difference between the countries . All take off and landing times are usually quoted as local time

Having looked into it we are doing the following. Ryan Air, Stanstead - Toulouse Friday 4th March, return Toulouse - Stanstead Monday 14th March. Ryan Air had cheap flight deals booked in January. Total cost for the two of us including baggage and seats £161.88. Staying in an in an Airbnb apartment in Toulouse 4th March to Friday 11th March thence train down to Perpignan and staying in an Ibis hotel, Friday 11th to Monday 14th.
Train back to Toulouse and flight home 14th. Arriving late Monday evening so booked a room at a Travelodge prior to driving home the next day. Following the Warriors world wide is most enjoyable.
