Paul Jewell fears wigans suvival battle may be hit by the club's rugby league playing neighbours. Wigan Warrors face St Helens at the JJB Stadium today - less than 48 hours before latic home clash with Bolton. Jewell said "Its not the best for the football, to play rugby on the pitch the day before a game. In fact its not ideal to rugby on the pitch full stop but thats the kind of club we are"

When we finished our season, the pitch was in perfect condition. After half a dozen Latics games there was hardly any grass left.
