Watched The Sunday Roast and very interestingly when discussing the quality of the NRL the panel led by Phil Gould argued that whilst the salary cap makes the competition more even it significantly reduces excellence at the top of the competition. As in SL, they argued the difference between the team placed 5th and the em paced bottom would be very litle BUT the top clubs would not raise the standard of RL higher, rather they would fall.
