Barrett's problem is that MoS usually comes from a successful team; which we aren't!

Yes i am a wigan fan.
but you have got to admit. Wellens is a very decent
player.
Compare him to our 2 full back options at the start of the season. Ashton and Withers! i mean come on.
and then look at other full backs.
I can only think of a few who i rate. Mclinden and Wellens being two!
so fair play he is a saints player but a bloody good un.
and he shouldnt get MoS this year but it probably will be a scum player. But the RFL should take some time to look at the smaller clubs like salford and catalans and consider other smaller and better players¬

Wellens plays behind the best defence in SL. He's OK, however put him in a team like Salford, Wakefield or London and he would look very average. He is pretty slow for FB. Going forward he has good support play and he usually breaks the first tackle - but when was the last time you saw he go more than 20 metres to score?

For Barrett to get MOS we need to get to the Grand Final and he needs to put some solid games in on the way. If we finish 7th I don't think he stands a chance.

Not necessarily.
Barrett doesn't always exceed himself.
Don't get me wrong he is one the best players we have always had. But like any other great he doesnt always perform to his best.
and maybe thats why we have lost matches like Hull KR and Huddersfield.
I think had we got to the CC final then it would have been a different story. But still a close game.
