Warriors Congratulate Team JJ

Post by josie andrews »

Wigan Warriors have today congratulated the Joining Jack legends team after the team won the Dubai 7s Veterans tournament over the weekend.
The Joining Jack Legends team took part in the Veteran Rugby 7s tournament for the sixth time as a group of former players from both codes travelled over to the UAE last week.

Legends including Jason Robinson, Pat Richards and Mick Cassidy took part alongside captain Andy Johnson.

The Joining Jack Legends team won all three of their group games without even conceding a point. A quarter final against Mo Bro Veterans saw them squeeze through 21-17 before they booked their maiden final appearance with a 33-5 win over Dnata Bali.

The JJ Legends came up against the J9 Legends in the final and took the win 7-5.

Jack gave a rousing teamtalk before the game and said: “I’ve got the heart you’ve got the legs. Win it for me!”

Warriors’ Kris Radlinski, who has represented the Joining Jack team in recent years, said: “The Dubai 7s is a great event and whilst the main aim is to raise awareness of the charity and raise money the team go there to win their tournament so to see them do that is fantastic. We’re delighted for Jack, AJ and the team and send them our heartfelt congratulations!”

The Warriors have worked with Joining Jack for several years and earlier this season had the JJ logo on their chests for the Super League game against Catalans Dragons.

Everyone at Wigan Warriors congratulates team Joining Jack on their success.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
