I thought Hemmings was a soccer reporter on Radio Merseyside.
From there he went to SKY to do Rugby League which I understood was a new sport to him back then.

Wigan dark horses for the GF?!? Eddie doesn’t half talk some crap.
The way he talks you’d think we were struggling in the league and out of form.
Were second in the league and we beat saints last week for god sake!!

I’ve said it for years that the likes of EH and Stevo must have affected the viewing figures for RL on Sky. Not only on a weekly basis with the same biased cliched drivel putting off existing fans but also on the few occasions they’ve had the chance to promote the game on mainstream. Interviews often come across as reinforcing the old stereotypes rather than highlighting the way the game has moved forward often leading where other sports have followed.

I don’t know if EH affects Phil Clarke’s comments but he often comes across as massively biased towards Wigan as if to compensate/wind him up.

I’ve found if you either turn the sound off and watch in silence or rather bizarrely listen to music (classical works best) you actually seem to notice a lot more going on on the pitch. Perhaps it’s because you don’t get distracted by the nonsense.
NRL seems enhanced by the commentators in comparison.
