ANDREW JOHNS BEING TREATED FOR SEIZURES AFTER COLLAPSING

Post by josie andrews » Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:50 am

Rugby League legend Andrew Johns is being treated for seizures after collapsing while on holiday.

The 44-year-old was in Yamba on the New South Wales North Coast when he required medical attention in a coffee shop.

His condition is currently being monitored closely with the ex-Warrington half-back revealing this is one of several seizures he has suffered in the last few years.

“They are seizures that have been going on a while,” Johns told the Australian Sunday Telegraph.

“I’m seeing the right doctors and they are doing all the tests and have got me on medication.”

Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Johns is now regularly seen on TV screens Down Under as a pundit on channel 9’s coverage of the NRL.

His older brother and fellow ex-Newcastle Knights player Matthew Johns revealed to the paper that his sibling could feel his seizure coming before it hit him.

“He could feel it coming and next thing he is waking up on the floor,” Matthew said.

“He’s had a few seizures in the last couple of years but his last one was probably 12 months ago. He seems to think it comes on at times when he’s really tired.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage.
