LEE SMITH ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Post by josie andrews »

FORMER LEEDS RHINOS AND ENGLAND THREE-QUARTER LEE SMITH HAS ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT AT THE AGE OF 32.

Smith won three Super League titles in successive years with his home-town club from 2007-09 – and played for England in the 2008 World Cup.

The full-back, centre or winger, who also played for Wakefield Trinity, Leigh Centurions and Bradford Bulls and had spells in rugby union with Wasps and Newcastle, intends to stay in the sport as an agent.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
