But why was he still in the UK instead of having been deported back to Oz after being out of work after leaving Wire?

How do coaches get passed their best? Not disagreeing but interested to hear if you have any thoughts on the subject.

Is it motivation, is it a lack of changing styles/tactics, is it a slow down of the brain!

Probably has citizenship after all the years spent as coaches.

He took British citizenship when he was still coaching at Leeds I think it was.

A good question I think it’s as you say a combination of things plus the game itself just moves on and opens it’s self to new ideas.

What surprised about Smith was how young he is as he seems to have been around for ages,certainly at Wire he was just there far too long,we see of course how it pans out for him
