We should offer him a 1 year then leave contract or a "wigan special"

And for the first time i will sit here and applaud saints.

This is what we should be doing instilling pride in youngsters to play for wigan not just to use us as a hurdle to the NRL.

If every club did this Superleague as a whole would improve.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

The thing is that Thompson does not need the dosh.

I think McManus may have forgotten that they have signed Naiqama, Fages, Walmsley, Taia, Paulo, LMS, Douglas, Amor, Peyroux, Coote and Batchelor in the last few seasons. not bad for a team that likes to develop and retain players.

If he thinks that players don't get tapped up then he is kidding himself.

Something needs to be done because simply the sport can’t sustain this assault, for want of a better word, from the NRL,the player pool is small here and is getting smaller

Double the cap and tough if the likes of Wakey and Salford can't keep up, It's about time RL roared again

He's contracted until 2020 then whether duck face likes it or not, he's a free agent.

If he re-signs at Sts then good on him, if he goes, who can blame him?

Let’s be fair the chairman like the “fame” of owning a club just don’t like paying the going rate for players, the cap is beginning to have issues now in regards to wages etc

That said if they doubled the cap tomorrow I doubt Wigan would spend anywhere near it to be honest

Agreed.

Imagine we implemented the rule the Aussies do with not picking players for the national team who play abroad.
