So if I am born in Madagascar and live in England my whole life from 6 months old, I should play for Madagascar?old hooker wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:22 pm In an ideal world players should only represent the country they are born in but sadly that is not the case. So if Austin,Hastings et al wish to put their hand up to play for GB then lets select them.Every other country have an advantage over us by selecting 'foreigners' and lets be fair.we are not spoilt for choice at half back and these 2 are the best in SL by a mile.

As I've posted before, once you play international rugby, or any sport, for one country, that should be the only country you can represent. Austin played for Portugal so should only represent them

That's what I think. It's wrong to keep changing allegiance just so you can play a game!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Rules are rules though, and for England to take the "moral high ground" in only selecting players born in England would do nothing to further enhance the game and it would also put us on an eneven playing field.kevbrown1980 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 9:18 am As I've posted before, once you play international rugby, or any sport, for one country, that should be the only country you can represent.
