Three Super League players suspended

Post by josie andrews »

Following the latest round of Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued penalty notices to the following players.

Warrington prop Sitaleki Akauola has been cited for a Grade C Dangerous Throw and banned for two games.

It means Akauola, barring a successful appeal, will miss the Wolves’ Challenge Cup semi-final against Hull FC later this month.

Meanwhile, Leeds half-back Richie Myler will miss one game after he was charged with Grade B Tripping.

Catalans forward Kenny Edwards was also handed a one-match penalty notice for Grade B Foul and abusive language at a Match Official.

Disciplinary round-up:

Richie Myler (Leeds) – Grade B Tripping – 1 Match Penalty Notice

Sitaleki Akauola (Warrington) – Grade C Dangerous Throw – 2 Match Penalty Notice

Kenny Edwards (Catalan) – Grade B Foul and abusive language at a Match Official – 1 Match Penalty
Notice

The following players received cautions:

Ben Jones Bishop (Wakefield) – Strikes with knee

Romain Navarette (Wigan) – Strikes with knee

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
