Hull KR plans for crucial clash thrown into disarray by Warrington Wolves decision

Post by josie andrews »

Hull KR have been dealt a double blow ahead of their crucial game against Huddersfield Giants with Harvey Livett and Luis Johnson both recalled by parent club Warrington Wolves.

Livett and Johnson were named in KR’s 19-man squad for tonight’s match but Tony Smith has had to revise his plans at short notice.

Robbie Mulhern is likely to be handed a recall with either Owen Harrison or Adam Rooks making up the 17.

Livett and Johnson had played in all four Super League games since their arrival on one-month loans and added a freshness to the Rovers pack, as well as depth to the squad.

Smith announced after last week's match against Leeds Rhinos that the pair would remain at KCOM Craven Park on a week-by-week basis, which left KR at the mercy of the Wolves.

Warrington’s decision to recall them at the 11th hour further weakens a Robins team already without key hooker Matt Parcell, who suffered a shoulder injury in the victory at Headingley and is facing at least four weeks on the sidelines.

Of the four short-term signings made by Smith, only prop Daniel Murray will play against the Giants as KR aim to put daylight between themselves and the bottom.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
