Hastings isn't club trained so will be £175k.
That's how I understand the Marquee Player and salary cap worth to be.
£175k for non club trained
£150k for club trained

George isn’t club trained at us so will be £175k counted on the cap. That’s assuming we do pay him above that salary and make him marquee.

That’s very helpful. So, we would need to find 25k in reduced wages for Hastings to be like for like with Williams.

The key dispensations are:
- Marquee Player – Each Super League and Championship Club is permitted to have two Marquee Players whose Salary Cap Value is limited to £150,000 (or £75,000 if Club Trained).

So Hastings for Williams equals a 75K hit to the salary cap.

I am not quite sure what you mean but for a player to be a marquee player a club must pay them £175k or more. The difference is how much counts on the cap if they are club trained or not.

So Hastings could be on the exact same money as Williams and the only difference would be Williams wage counted £75k on the cap and Hastings will count £150k.

So to sign Hastings we had to find £75k extra space on the salary cap.

Someone earlier said the club trained marquee value was 150K, not 75K. So that's where the 25K came from.

We're taking a big hit getting rid of a club trained marquee.

That is incorrect, the values are £150k and £75k respectively.

Correct. We need to remember that the salary cap increases by £100k next season. We also know that Sarge, Williams, Hamlin, T, Forsyth and Ganson will be leaving/have left. I would imagine that, in terms of the cap that Hastings will cost £75k more than Williams, Clark will replace Hamlin, Bibby will be paid for by Forsyth and Ganson. That leaves us with Sarge and T’s salary to a play with irrespective of any other departures.
