Wigan Warriors present gift to Benny Westwood

Post by josie andrews »

Potentially his last visit to the @DWStadium, @WiganWarriorsRL present @WarringtonRLFC legend Ben Westwood with a special memento...

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'm probably in a minority of one but Benny was one of my favourite players and I think it's a great gesture.

Like him or not at some point in his career I’ll wager most RL fans would have loved him in their side.

Classy gesture by the club.

This is why at the grand final retiring stars should be paraded round to give fans a chance to say goodbye and a thank you for their time in our sport.
