Castleford Tigers announce Greg Minikin is joining Hull KR - then delete tweet

The centre is joining Rovers next season as has previously been reported

Castleford Tigers announced on Twitter this evening that their player Greg Minikin was leaving the club to join Hull KR, only to then delete their tweet.

It has been widely reported already Minikin is leaving The Jungle to make the move to Hull College Craven Park next season, with Hull Live reporting yesterday that despite speculation in west Yorkshire the deal had been pulled, he will be signing for Rovers for the 2020 campaign and beyond.

Castleford, who announced that Luke Gale was departing before Leeds Rhinos could confirm his signature, looked to have been doing Rovers' signing announcement for them when confirming not only that the 24-year-old would be leaving the club, but that he had signed for the Robins.

They wrote: "The club can confirm that Greg Minikin will be leaving the Tigers this off season to take up a contract with Hull KR from 2020.

"Thanks for all your efforts in a Tigers shirt Greg, best of luck for the future."

The Twitter post was soon deleted, but not before it had been shared.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage.
