The experienced forward joins brother Sam in the south of France
Former Hull KR captain Joel Tomkins has joined Catalans Dragons on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old was released from his Rovers contract on compassionate grounds last month and it was thought he would return to the north west.
But he has now linked up with younger brother Sam in Perpignan.
Since playing against the Dragons in their first ever Super League game in 2006, I have always admired the club's ambition to grow and achieve success,” he said.
“Being given the opportunity to be a part of the Catalans Dragons is a great honour for me and I am determined to do what I can to help the club to achieve success in the coming years.”
The move also sees Tomkins reunite with Steve McNamara after the pair worked together at international level.
“Joel is an experienced, hardened competitor who plays and trains to win,” said the Dragons head coach.
“He will add great value to all within our organisation and I personally look forward to working with him again after previously coaching him for England.”
