Wigan’s policy, since the start of IFL’s reign, has clearly been to promote from within. That doesn’t mean, and will never mean, that we don’t recruit from outside the club, it would be foolhardy not to do so. I have no problem with it as I do not believe you can ever hope to produce a top team of home grown talent (though buying junior players like Pearce-Paul raises my eyebrows as we do supposedly have this production line) .
The fact were are happy to buy does make it frustrating if Leeming is a talent because hooker is definitely a position we need to look to improve.
