Wakefield suffer double injury blow

Post by josie andrews » Thu Jan 23, 2020 1:43 pm

Wakefield could be without two of their new signings for the start of the new Super League season.

Prop Chris Green picked up an ankle injury during Trinity’s warm weather training camp in Alicante last week, while fullback Alex Walker was one of two players helped from the field during their friendly clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday, along with young forward Yusuf Aydin.

And Chester confirmed it looks likely both will miss the round one fixture against Hull KR a week on Friday.

“They’ve (Walker and Aydin) both done ankles,” he said. “I can’t tell you a great deal else apart from they’re both really swollen.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage.
