Catalans are in a race to make this evening’s match against Warrington after their flight was diverted.

The Dragons were unable to board their charter plane in Perpignan after it was redirected to Toulouse due to the fierce tramontana wind around the Mediterranean.

The players are now driving the two-and-a-half hour trip to Toulouse in a bid to catch the flight and make the 6pm kick-off in Warrington.

Speaking to the Press Association News Agency, Catalans head coach Steve McNamara said: “The wind was horrendous and the plane couldn’t land.

“We’re now at the club and jumping in our cars, trying to get to Toulouse though the storm.

“Hopefully we’ll get there. We’re doing everything we can.”

The game is part of a double-header at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with Wigan facing Wakefield at 8.15pm.
