I dont think it will have been to be honest. I posted on the Salford deduction thread that Salford as a club are happy with the current situation based on a conversation i had with one of their sponsors. It leaves them debt free, a far better position in terms of potential sponsors & investors and were happy to take the 6 points this year as they couldnt be relegated (it would have been a kick in the teeth if they received the deduction next year). The debt related to 2013 i think it was and the John Wilkinson era, so to have that off their books is a big step forward and a promising position for them to be in.

as to Ian Watson, is Huddersfield really a step forward from what he has created at Salford. Even if he makes a success of the move they arent going to be flocking down in their thousands to watch at the stadium, so very much a sideways / backwards step IMO

I've been told he has all but signed a new contract at Wigan (1 Year with an option) same as French, and it will be announced along with the release of the away kit.

We'll soon see
Do you mean Hastings Dan?

I also have being told Huddersfield & Hull are not the only clubs to approach Watson. Have no idea who the other/s may be.

Doubt it. He's much more likely to be paid next season after that, and doesn't affect anything this season.

As a coach though that deduction lost the outside chance he could take salford to the GF.

Especially as only 3 of the playoff teams havent had massive outbreaks of covid.

Feel sorry for Salford as they have built a good squad with a good team spirit. Huddersfield is hardly a step up; neither would be HKR if Smith leaves. Could see Hull replacing Last and Saints fans aren't happy with Woolf looking at RedVee. Agar will stay at Leeds after the CC unless Hetherington is planning on reuniting Watson and Longy. Only other option might be a reformed Bradford if they get the 12th SL place above Leigh, Widnes or Toulouse.

Paul Rowley should be given the job, he is a talented coach.
