Unfortunately, the sport of rugby league will occasionally throw up issues like this. I feel sorry for Stevie but his health is far more important. I hope Leeds can find a roll for him.

Hopefully it will influence the powers that be to maybe conduct further research etc. Shame if any player has to retire under such circumstances.

Pity for Stevie Ward and I wish him well in whatever he does.
The RFL/SL need to come down a lot harder on head shots.
Some look bad and need hefty suspensions to make sure they disappear from the game as far as possible.
One factor that seems unavoidable are head clashes between team mates tackling an opponent. Some of those do look very severe and can cause concussion. How we overcome those instances I don't know. Perhaps they are unavoidable.
Stevie Ward was a quality player and he will be missed, the manner of his leaving the game is worrying.

Ward was a classy player but did seem blighted by injuries I wish him well for the future of course but I cant help but feel he should have retired a couple of years back.

Don’t be ridiculous. You can’t be serious?

That’s only for amateur boxing.

Constantly striving to improve concussion / HIA protocols in games and training will be the only way.

Why should he have?
