Lee Radford offered Castleford Tigers coaching role with club closing in on Daryl Powell replacement

Post by josie andrews »

Radford was offered the role by the club's hierarchy on Monday.

Lee Radford is set to become the next Castleford Tigers head coach after being offered the role.

Rugby League Live can reveal the former Hull FC boss was offered the job on Monday after the club concluded their interview process.

The likes of Andrew Henderson, James Ford and Danny Ward are all thought to have been in contention, but it's the back-to-back Challenge Cup-winning coach who looks set to land the role, though it's thought the deal has not yet been finalised.

Just announced he is taking over. Wigan should be all over Watts in my opinion. 1 poor game against us last week doesn't define him as a player. He would be Perfect for us.

Totally agree with regarding Watts.

As for Radford taking over what an uninspiring choice by Castleford his style of rugby is dire

Castleford taking a risk by replacing Powell with Radford.

Wonder what their fans think of the appointment.

Danny Ward would have been a good signing.
