BARROW RAIDERS SIGN HAKIM MILOUDI

Post by josie andrews »

Barrow Raiders have confirmed the signing of French International Hakim Miloudi.

Miloudi can play anywhere along the back-line and has previously represented Hull FC, Doncaster and Toronto Wolfpack as well as a host of French clubs with the most recent being Palau XIII Broncos.

The 27-year-old has earned five caps for France and will be looking to make the squad for the upcoming 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

Raiders Chairman, Steve Neale said: “This is a massive statement of intent from the Raiders who have picked up a player who could undoubtedly be playing in Super League.

“He has set himself the mission of making the France World Cup squad and his mission will be our benefit.

“Unknowingly, the Barrow crowd have played a big part in the signing, with Hakim remarking how well they got behind the team when he visited in a Toronto shirt.”

Miloudi joins a Barrow side who defeated Coventry Bears 20-38 in the opening round of the 2021 Betfred League 1 season.

Barrow have also added Sam Dowsett to their ranks from fellow Cumbrians Whitehaven.

Neale added: “Sam was recently released to return to the amateur ranks before we became aware of his availability. We managed to convince Sam that with the reduced travelling for training he could continue a professional career and we are delighted that he agreed.

“Sam will strengthen competition for places as the club look to make a strong promotion challenge.”

Barrow welcome Keighley Cougars in Round Two of Betfred League 1 this Sunday at 3pm and you can watch the game live on Our League. Gameday passes are available

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
