Disciplinary round-up: Wigan man receives hefty punishment for punching as EIGHT others face bans

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

singleton started to throw them and started it all, about right for me
Ashworth started it with Singleton when he was getting up from the tackle he swiped at him once then again as Singleton stood up!

pushing someone wont be treated as starting it for punching im afraid, punching is a massive no no now, just the way it is.

Funny how you always see Wigan players every week getting some sort of penalty or ban but very rarely stains
It is more than obvious with the ban panel, video refs and field refs there is some sort of plan to stop Wigan getting any where near play offs every season

He only got 2 games for continually punching someone in the head. Rfl disciplinary run by incompetent out dated clowns and rotten to the core.
About to post similar, Parto only stepped in to protect his team mate and deserved 2 games, what Butler did was worth 4 games at least.

Or, more plausibly, Saints players didn't punch anyone this week.

Of course, it's easier to avoid punching someone if you don't play any games...

Wouldn't disagree, but Partington's disciplinary record won't have helped. As Joe Mills said, the lad's got a short fuse.

If somebody punched me I would have a short fuse.

Just reading these minutes from the “Disciplinary Panel”!

Singleton, Ashworth, Partington & Butler ALL have the same details of the bust up but only Singleton has 3 games to the others 2!

Regardless, Singleton started it and threw punches when he shouldn't have done. He was the aggressor and the rest wouldn't have happened if he didn't react.

That being said, I don't think it should be a red card and I don't think it should be 3 matches.

Comments above about Ashworth starting it are false. Whilst he did interfere with Singleton, he didn't do enough to warrant getting punched in the face.
