Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

We have signed 2 NRL props... should we hand it to IL?
they sign a star we sign 2 lads who barely make it into the 17
So why's he coming to SL than if he's such a star? Money, surely not? Skeletons in the closet - more than likely, that's the only reason a prime aussie will come over.
why cant it be money? If its marquee money that can be a lot and nearing the top of the aussie contracts, the only people we wont see are internationals as it kills their chances of being selected for Aus and NZ

Yes, but the Wigan signings are "project" players - neither are regular starters for their teams (as far as I know) so maybe have their best years to come and at Wigan.
Sironen is a fringe Origin player and the Roosters guy is top draw (if they do sign him).

They won’t be able to get other top Aussies under the cap. Interestingly, Sironen was only being paid about £215k in Australia.

Why is everyone raving over Sironen? He isn’t that good.

Because it can be used to bash the club.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

It's a convenient narrative right now. Find the problems, ignore the areas of improvement.

Sironen has been extremely injury prone, I’m comfortable Saints having him, could be another Thompson. On the other hand if they get him fit, this is a very big ex stand off on the edges and can be unplayable. I’m not sure what we will get.

Ellis is a tackle machine, I’ve seen enough of him to say he’s going to be a good player for us, very big and strong who averages around 30-40 tackles a game.

Mago is impact, definitely not a starter, if we start him he won’t be as effective and fans will get on his back. Souths are not happy he is going, a very strong runner of the ball.

The two forwards will compliment what we already have, just need one more imo another big quick lad and that’s the pack sorted.

Singleton
Partington
Byrne
Mago
Ellis
Havard
One other.

We are adding significant size to the squad, Thornley although this is the third time he has been here is a big lad, is hardly ever injured. Miski a very strong winger carries out of yardage extremely well I can see why we will be using a quota on him.

A halfback who can kick and another prop and we will be very competitive next season. French will be like a new signing.

If you watched the HKR v Leigh game at magic you’d see how poor Thornley is. He was awful.
