Tom Johnstone hit with another injury

Post by josie andrews »

Tom Johnstone has been a late withdrawal from Wakefield’s side to play against Toulouse today.

This is due to a “slight injury” according to Trinity. His withdrawal sees Liam Kay start on the wing whilst Liam Hood moves to nine with Harry Bowes on the bench meaning there’s no issue for Wakefield with regards to the number nine position.

Lee Gaskell also comes into the halves in place of the absent Jacob Miller.

It’s a big game for Trinity who are currently four points clear of Toulouse at the bottom but a defeat would cut the gap down to just two points and a win.

So Wakefield need a win to move six points clear of the drop and with the two sides also dwelling at the bottom meeting today in Leeds and Salford it’s a must win game and Johnstone’s absence is one they would not have wanted.

Tom Lineham did play for the reserves yesterday so his loss would be ameliorated by his return.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
