Huddersfield Giants bounced back from last week's defeat with a comeback victory against Warrington Wolves, winning 32-22 in the Betfred Super League.

After a 50-day break, Huddersfield Giants returned to the John Smith’s Stadium searching to maintain their excellent home record. The visitors also needed a victory to create a gap between themselves and 12th spot.

The visitors struck early with former Giant’s man Jake Wardle crashing over from short distance to open the scoring, with Ratchford adding the extras. Huddersfield struck back midway through the first half courtesy of Ashton Golding, who profited on some meaningful field position to punish Warrington out wide.

Minutes later Ratchford converted two more penalties to extend the lead to eight points, and were on course to take a healthy lead into the break if not for Adam O’Brien, the hooker saw a gap and crossed under the posts, with Oliver Russell converting, leaving the sides separated by just two points at the break.

Matty Ashton would get the first score of the second half, intercepting to extend the hosts lead to eight points, but makeshift centre Josh Jones crossed after a clever Theo Fages kick confused the Wire defence to allow the Giants to chip away at the visitors lead.

After an onslaught of Giants pressure Warrington scored thanks to Matty Ashton again, but would soon be lacking the full compliment as Joe Bullock was sent to the stands for ten for a high tackle. The Giants made the most of Warrington’s ill discipline and Innes Senior acrobatically scored to level the game.

With 13 minutes left Will Pryce scored a magnificent individual effort to give the Giants their first lead of the afternoon, and to round off an excellent comeback, Owen Trout scored to put the game to bed. Back to winning ways for the Giants.
