Last Friday we saw the amazing conclusion of the Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup in a game that was high drama till the very end.

That drama though may now be set to go towards a film as it’s been announced by the Noah Media Group that filming of both final teams, England and France, has been done throughout the tournament.

For those who’ve forgotten or somehow missed it, England defeated France 28-24 in a match that made news for spectacular play, a world record attendance and even some very questionable refereeing.

But now there’s the possibility that we’ll be able to relive the triumph of captain Tom Halliwell’s late winning try and potentially even the whole tournament process.

In a tweet from Noah Media Group congratulating both sides on a brilliantly fought final, they announced: “We’ve been filming with both teams every step of the way for a yet to be announced project”.

Further fuel was added to this when John McKenna, co-founder of Noah Media Group, retweeted that with the following: “I cannot wait to start sharing more about a special, special film.. What a game, what a tournament and what a privilege to be behind the scenes for it all!!”

This can only be good news for the sport and a fly on the wall film following the successes and anguishes of both teams sounds absolutely fascinating, and with the clear interest in wheelchair rugby league it will hopefully provoke a few more people to try the sport out.
