Hull FC confirm two end of season exits as deals signed with Super League rivals

Post by josie andrews »

Chris Satae and Brad Dwyer won't be Hull FC players in 2024.

Hull FC have confirmed that prop forward Chris Satae and hooker Brad Dwyer will leave the club at the end of this season. Hull Live have already reported that both players would move on upon expiry of their contracts, with the club confirming their departures this Wednesday afternoon.

Satae will make the move to Perpignan and join Catalans Dragons next season, with the French club since confirming the signing. Brad Dwyer will return to Warrington Wolves, the club he debuted with over a decade ago.

Tony Smith is already doing business for next year, with young winger Liam Tindall a done deal from Leeds Rhinos, and prop Jack Ashworth very close to becoming an Airlie Bird. Hull Live understands an offer is on the table for the Huddersfield forward.

On the exits, Smith said: "Chris has been with the club for a number of years now and he is seeking a new challenge and a change of lifestyle with his family, which we fully respect.

"He has been a total joy to work with and he is whole-heartedly looking forward to seeing out the rest of the year with Hull FC whilst in great physical and mental shape.

It's the second time I have worked with Brad throughout my coaching career and he is enjoying his time with us, but he now has an opportunity to be a little bit closer to home, which is right for him and his family.

Like Chris, Brad is really focused on the remainder of the year with us, and they both have a big role to play."

Satae signed for Hull from NRL outfit New Zealand Warriors in 2019, while Dwyer joined from Leeds Rhinos ahead of the current season.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
