Look around, how many VW's, Audi's, BMW and Mercedes do you see on the road? The build quality is excellent and quite rightly have earned a big chunk of the market.
Obviously they won't want tariffs on their cars but ultimately if this occurs, it will cost the consumer in England more money.
As for Jap cars, never had one and unlikely will.

You have to have a bloody good income to afford an Audi, BMW or Merc as it is (or be a poser). There are plenty of Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Kia and Fords around for those on a modest budget, just because you wont buy Japenese or other doesn't mean others wont.

If xenophobic is a good description of the EU, I'm not sure you know what that means or what you are taking about. But if you voted to leave I'm not surprised that is the case.

Also backwards looking

Also supported by almost all racists? EU?

In fact on closer inspection I think I'm going to ask you to explain, because I have concerns that there is something wrong here.

I guess you are embracing the new anti-intellectual, post-truth world.

If you re-read your post you'll find Ian is correct in his remarks concerning your post to which he refers.
The "it's " in your post can be read as a reference to the EU.
As regards your last remarks"...the new anti interllectual post truth world" is unintelligible clap trap.

Stick to administering the forum... an interllectual you are not. You probably didn't pass 11+ like me.
Think you owe Ian an apology or do administrators not do apologies.

Remember Mike. I said long ago that I was the only Tory in Wigan before ending up in Harrogate for safety, I watch Rugby League not Union, I voted Natural Law party back in the 80s as they were the only party against the EU so I have always been one of a small minority and it came as a great surprise on June 24th when I found out I was in a majority.
You will also remember that I holiday two months a year in France and my favourite woman is a Sikh so that disqualifies me as a Xenophobe or a racist I believe.

The original conversation was about the Germans needing us more than we need them and I used those makes of vehicles to demonstrate what they provide and the likely cost increase when and if tarrifs are imposed
To be honest I don't drive any of those above. Citroen and Peugeot are quite popular vehicles also and no doubt there may be tariffs on them?
The point I'm making is without buying a foreign car your options are pretty limited.
I quite accept that others buy Japanese, my own personal taste just doesn't fit with the rather bland style.
The daftest looking car built in the last five years is the Nissan Juke in my opinion.

Poor old Wormer thinks the Project Fear was real.
He still believes that when we leave the EU we will have Free Trade with the EU. Won't make any more payments and our borders will be under control so we can decide who enters the UK and who doesn't.
Wormer believes all that but the three Brexit ministers who used to believe it but don't now.

The German car makers lobbied their Govt for a free trade in cars with the UK and have been denied. They were told it was far more important that the 27 countries stand together and they have accepted this. Their four freedoms are now non negotiable.

Brexit has united the EU like its never been united before.
Wilders lost the Dutch election, forecasts are that Le Pen will get thrashed in the 2nd round of the French elections also that Merkel will get re-elected.

Whats the odds that the 2020 Gen Election will also have a new referendum together with the usual GE poll?

But the people who buy Audi, BMW or Merc will be able to afford the tarif and as it is a specialised market they (Germans) do probably need (the rich in) the UK market more than we need them.
