R.I.P Walter Becker

Post by medlocke »

For those who are interested

Walter Becker, guitarist, bassist and co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band Steely Dan, died Sunday at the age of 67.

Steely Dan is a band i have been fond of for the last 35 years due to the great songs that where written by Becker and his writing partner/band co-founder Donald Fagen.

Sad news. He'll join his mate Glenn Frey at the Great Gig in the Sky.
Saw Steely Dan in 72 at Manc Opera House about the time of Countdown.
RIP

Was surprised when reading his wikipedia profile, that he was involved with China Crisis.

IMO a staggeringly brilliant musician and although I didn't know him personally, feel the world is a bit more sad with him gone.

He produced alot of China Crisis stuff, who, indeed, recorded some better stuff than their peers at the time.
