Well what can I say. Today I watched the Final of the tri service Rugby Union.
What a game, hard, exciting, with both team wanting to play with the ball and with one or two league players. Must admit it was very heartening to see the players wanting to keep the ball alive.

My late Dad played for the Army at RU on the wing when he did his national service though coming from Ince he was of course an RL player. This is back when RL players were deemed "professional" and banned from setting foot in RU grounds so the Army was a bit more enlightened. When his national service was due to finish they asked him if he would stay on and this was so he could keep playing for them. He didn't.
