I thought i was the only one who remembered him! At least i think i do. Wasn't he the coloured lad who played a handful of games on the wing about 20 years ago? Some real crackers in that team. Jinkin' Jimmy Fairhurst and Mr. Voluntry tackle/worst goal kicker ever, Colin Whitfield.

Alex the Warrior dont knock Wendy Whitfield too much...if he hadn't been on the team bus coming back from Wembley (84 or 85?) then those of us at Central Park awaiting the teams homecoming would still be there now (next to the deli counter at Tesco)- he was a diesel fitter and fixed the broken down team coach somewhere on the M1. Can't imagine many of our players now with another trade.

Mike, I found myself agreeing to this team but a little concerned by Newton on the wing and Tickle at Scrum Half! :D

Newton would be great on the wing - remember that "80 yarder" at home against London, when he outpaced everybody on the pitch...(then had to go off for a rest?)

Not sure what you mean here.
I can't find Newton on the wing. Are you talking about the team selection on the preview, or something in the thread too subtle for me to see at this time of the night? :hehe: :slee: :with:

Ian is referring to your "fit list" in this thread (post #3), which starts to read like a team list until you get to Newton at #5

Looks OK to me...
