Think Kenny could probably have kicked the thing is he never had to because he could use his other skills to open up defenses with ease :cool: that try in the last minute against HKR just showed if the situation was desperate he could .
Remember the KR fans throwing someone in the dougie after the game , they were a top team back then think they knocked saints out that year who had Meninga playing , they had a winger Gary Clarke?? who scored a good try to win the game then they lost to us in the semi , Brian Juliff scored in the first half he was standing in for fergie who had returned home gavin miller scored for them , second half all I can remember is Westy going 70 yards before putting Stephenson under the sticks ahhh the memories not as clear must be getting old :D

Going back to Lucky13's earlier post re the semi in 85. Spot on Brian Julif played on the wing and scored a a great try from a superb Shaun Wayne pass.
Felt sorry for Julif that he didn't make the cup final team as the sub instead of Du Toit. Originally a winger but played a lot at second row. I always thought that was an odd combination. Imagine Fletch on the wing? Honest decent hard working player.
Scored two very important tries at Elland Rd. That one and the one in the JPT final against Leeds.
Didn't Shaun Wanyne do his knee in the first half a clash with Westy s leg and it put him out for the rest of the season and he missed the final?

Without looking and purely guessing;

Fairbairn, Clark, Prohm, Smith, Laws, Dorahay, Harkin, Miller, Kelly, Burton, Emma, Watkinson, Broadhurst SUBS Johnstone, G Smith, Hogan, Lydiat

Best player for us Graeme West, galloping 65 yards before passing to David Stephenson. seem to recall Shaun Wane played well too.

Your like me Doug. At our age the first thing to go is the memory. :wink:

Good to see that - although I was listed as automatic - I did get a few Hull KR players right!

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.

The best form of defence is attack!!

Out of the black and into the red, remember you don't get anything for two in a bed!!

I think Jullif and Du Toit were our subs.

Peter Johnstone was definetly their forward sub. Aussie Prop from Canterbury. Never did much for KR.

It was a wettish day as I recall.

Kenny had brilliant balance and could step / evade quite easily. He often showed the defence a step and then proceded to go the opposite way. Brilliant swerve running wise too.

Oddly my greatest memory is the Fergusson try v Warrington when Kenny ran alngside him waving at him to keep going.

juliff played on the wing because fergie had gone home he scored our first try ,don't think they dropped a goal doug it was only three for a try then I think ? god can't remember ,another moment of the game came back to me donlan getting held up when it would have been easier to score mind you he only looked 12 stone wet through
