How long have you been watching Wigan RLFC?
Re: How long have you been...
It depends what you mean by watching. As a kid my dad had the RL on on Grandstand on TV (I still hate Eddie Waring) and so some of the past greats were viewed on TV.
In terms of actively supporting the team by going to games about 30 years which I have just worked out and am rather shocked about!

Is that on sale somewhere my dad would love it on DvD? he has just had a hip replacement so he has not been for over a year but prior to that he has watched Wigan for 60 years .cpwigan posted:
Jimmy Nulty was the scrum half (I think) Glad they put that hattrick by Green Vigo on the 101 top tries video.

My Dad and Grandad always watched it when I was a kid.
My dad would sit in the lounge with the curtains closed when a match was on and no one was aloud to speak (thats if they made it into the lounge).
I remember sitting in the pitch black on Saturday afternoons engrosed by it....
Happy days....
I was born in 1981 so I'm guessing 1986ish?

First real memeories are standing in the 'Hen Pen' at Central Park waiting to hear if Billy Boston had got his weekend pass from the Army and was able to play. This made everyones day except of course the other team. His tries were all long range and at terrific speed which many people fail to remember. So must be 1957 or so about 50yrs through and through.

In the early-1960s. My first Wembley was Wigan v Hunslet, and I'll never forget the euphoria of that day, though most of the detail of the match escapes me now.
When I first started watching Wigan from the Hen Pen, it was taken as read that Wigan were the greatest team in the land. The 1970s was thus a difficult period, and when we got relegated, I thought it was the end of everything. It just shows - there's light at the end of every tunnel.
