Maybe I should rephrase that. His official contract is rumoured to be £20K. :sly:

They really think they can get away with this year-in-year-out, don't they.
I so hope they get caught.

They appear to be breaking no laws and let's face it IF Saints, Wire, Hudds, whoever are doing this and it is working then why the hell aren't we?
Do you think we hold the moral high ground and the SL low ground
Re: Scully
The implication is that the contract would be £20K but Scully would be paid extra via the old bunch of fivers in a brown paper bag route.Doveoverdave posted:

If that happens there is nothing illegal in that so long as the player declares it to the Inland Revenue as income. If they do, then it may come to light such payments are being made in which case the salary cap police ought to act.
If the player doesn't declare it then that is illegal.
Possibly because I'd hazard a guess the reason we don't do it is down to what I state above.Do you think we hold the moral high ground and the SL low ground
As an aside if the RFL know this sort of thing goes on but can't act or prove it then their moral stance with the salary cap is a sham and they should just admit it is unworkable and scrap it.

How about contravening 'the spirit of the salary cap'?Doveoverdave posted:Caught doing what exactly!Cruncher posted:His overseas bank account will no doubt tell a different story.jinkin jimmy posted:
