Someone mentioned to me that Wigan have been trying to sign New Zealand Warriors centre Simon Mannering.

He is 21, 6'4" and 16 st 0 lbs, He usually position is centre but has spent sometime at second row.

It might just be wishful thinking but has anyone else heard anything.

Heard his name mentioned a few times. theres also someone on the bbc message boards site saying he's signed a 3 year deal.


would be a very good signing better than walker and webster in IMO.

Noble likes his big centres and wingers from his days at Bradfordv so there could be some truth in this hope so would be a perfect signing for us.

I watched him last night on Setanta and he is big, strong and fast with a great offload. Reminds me of Kevin Iro when he first came to Wigan, would be a massive signing for us.

More of a loose forward when he plays internationals and that (back row at least) is not a position we need to fill coupled with which is the fact that we already have a second row cum centre in Bailey. We need an out and out centre.

true true but you nedd players like that in this day and age especially with fletch moving on we need someone to do a job like bailey but who is also fast and powerful so this new guy fits the bill in my eyes.........
