Warriors star Iafeta Palea'aesina has been arrested by police investigating an assault in which a Wigan bus driver's jaw was broken.
It is alleged the 17-stone Kiwi prop punched James Campbell in the face just hours after he and his team were knocked out of the Super League play-offs by Leeds.
The pair were involved in an altercation in the car park of Wigan North Western railway station at 5.20am on Saturday, October 6. Mr Campbell needed hospital treatment and has since seen a specialist to discover whether or not he needs surgery.
Palea'aesina voluntarily attended Wigan Police headquarters the following Tuesday where he was arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm.
He was quizzed by officers from British Transport Police – because the incident took place on railway property – and was released on bail pending further inquiries.
He is due to answer bail on November 22 when a decision will be taken to charge him or not.
The news will come as a shock to Palea'aesina's many fans.
He has become a firm favourite at the JJB Stadium since the former New Zealand Warrior signed for the club at the start of last season and has only missed two matches in all that time.
The 25-year-old, who lives in Chorley, played in the October 5 final eliminator at Headingley which saw Wigan's hopes of reaching the play-off final from sixth position shattered at the final hurdle.
A spokesman for Wigan Warriors said: "We are aware of the situation and it is being dealt with by the authorities. We cannot make any further comment at this stage."

Re: Feka in GBH probe
Not good news and totally unexpected regarding Feka.
Still until he is either charged or not I would warn people to stay away from posting speculation or rumours about this incident.

Well given it says he has broken someone's jaw I can't see how Feka can look much different.Nobby`s Girl posted:
Feka would not hurt a fly!
My question is WHY or WHAT was said for Feka to react like this!
me thinking this all going to get blown out of proportion and Feka is going to look like the bad one!.
Unless Feka was physically attacked and was defending himself he has no excuse for breaking someone's jaw. That goes for anyone doesn't it.Somethin really must of up-set Feka to react like this! So maybe the man in question should be the bus driver IMO.
Until details become clear we won't know why he did this but one thing is for sure and that is if he threw the first punch he could be in serious trouble with both the police and the club.

Engineering works start at midnight on Saturday and run all through Sunday. The power to the overhead lines is turned off so buses run from the stations on the train routes.Dubs posted:

I thought Feka lived in Standish??? don't know why he would be there at that time anyway?
I will reserve comments until the real story is told.
