worst refereeing i have ever seen

Post by right cross »

watched my son play a game of rugby at st pats ,[standish high year 7 v wigan u 11s].

it was agreed to play 3 x20 mins, so the game started and before very long it was clear that standish were up against it ,but the lads bravely [standish] gave it all they had and after 3x20 mins ish the ref blew up with standish winners by 10 points or so ,all us parents started to make are way to the club house when they started playing again ,to everyones amazement and played for another 40 MINS yes 40 MINS with him [the ref] giving wigan some rather embarasing decisions ,getting them in frount , bit with seconds to go [we think ] standish scored and added the conversion to win . it was wrong to put them lads threw that and they all knew the ref was wrong , what kind of message did he give to them and to both sides parents ,
did anyone else attend and what did they think ? :(

School rugby league is littered with very strange refereeing efforts. It can be incredibly hard to win AWAY from home.

RightCross who were Standish High playing?

Nothing suprises me as far as schools rugby goes. I once went up to Cumbria with Fisher and thought we would be lucky to make it back to the coach unscathed. The talk behind the sticks was when we walk off keep close together. St Peters had an old PE teacher who invented rules as he wenty along or rather as the score altered. When officials start playing silly beggars it makes the game almost impossible.

they were playing wigan u 11s ? , it looked like wigan town team ? and thats all i know but they were a very good team beating fisher u 12s in the last couple of weeks ,don't know why they were put together [thought service area only starts at 13s].

Odd :conf: I think the old town teams were often better than the service area teams personally. You would think that with such teams there would be no funny business re refereeing. Very sad.

Mind you last year, in front of a big crowd / final I stood and watched a referee awarding conversions that everybopdy else had seen go wide.
