Thakray to leave leeds
been on a 35 hr shift so i have just read this, apologies if its old news.
Sky sports are reporting Thakray is unsettled at Leeds and unhappy with the lack of first team opportunities. he has been allowed to talk to other clubs by Leeds.
Some have all been saying we are one prop short i wonder if we can offer him a place on a small salary with a view to increment it next yr.

Re: Thakray to leave leeds
I would be after him like a shot
Pay leeds a transfer fee and see if they will settle up on his contract - he wants to go and they want him off their books = transfer fees don't count on the salary cap!
Did Noble not give him a GB chance - think he can also play second row.
Offer him a cheap deal - if he wants to play he would take less money
Would also give Prescott and O'Carroll time to develop and would allow the option of bailey back in the centres due to injury situation
Go get him I say - but have been saying for a age the pack is a little light and we could do with four front line props

Is this a wish or a genunie rumour
I say go for him - if the deal is right - pay a transfer fee and see if Leeds will settle on his contract to ease our salary pressures
Do we have anything left in the salary cap to squeeze out another £40K - would only be counting for eight months on the 2008 cap

Maybe pryce is on a low paying contract this season??

Keep Wigan "Wigan"
Re: Thakray to leave leeds
He had one good spell but his confidence is shot and he may have been found out. There are question marks re how he holds a rugby ball and he was knocking on too frequently for Leeds liking. They tried to coach him to hold the ball properly but he refused to listen.

Re: jamie thackray maybe
i think we have the funds IL himself said we have some funds avaliable if worst come to worst we may need to use them now rather than later i think mathers contract is the lowest income but think about it he bought mathers, carmont, pryce with 140k and we still have money left over so anything is possible
