Year on year I have expected the Bulls to struggle to attain the heights they achieved under Matty and the early Nobby reign, and year after year I have been wrong. However I think this is the turning point.
We have bailed them out to the tune of £450k with the ridiculously over priced Fielden and they can still only manage to sign journeymen. Both halves are shot, Volcano's defection is a hammer blow as he has been arguably the best o/s in SL history and a points machine for them. Peacock has flown the nest and both powerhouse forwards are injured.
They will not make the top 4 and may not make the 6. Thier franchise application maybe accepted (so might Wakefield's!) but I can only forsee history repeating itself and the club may fold before the second franchise deals are out.
New Era?
Re: New Era?
It is hard to tell what is going on at Bradford. For several seasons now there have been rumours of them being in financial difficulty of one sort or another and I don't mean salary cap breaches but genuine money troubles.Doveoverdave wrote: They will not make the top 4 and may not make the 6. However if you go on rlfans and mention this you get a swift response from certain Bull's supporters who claim to be in the know regarding the clubs detailed accounts. Their response is invariably of the nature "You don't know what you are talking about and we will break even, make a profit (or whatever) in year X when Hood has sorted it all out".
I don't think their recent signings back this up. They are not top players like the Paul bros were in their prime. They seem to be cutting their cloth to fit a much smaller budget.
I noticed IL was offering his support for the Bulls in the court case with Leeds in the programme notes on Friday. Hopefully that can be resolved without it costing Bradford their future because the last thing we need is a high profile team going bust.

Don't get a prog so didn't know about this until this thread. I find it strange him offering support after they shafted us about the higham swapDaveO wrote:It is hard to tell what is going on at Bradford. Re: New Era?
It was McNamara who let the cat out of the bag over the recent Newton/Higham thing if that is what you mean. When IL responded to that he said at the time he got along well with Hood. I think what IL said in the program notes reinforces the fact IL and Hood are friends as well as rivals.Fujiman wrote: Don't get a prog so didn't know about this until this thread. Makes you wonder what IL will write in the program notes when Leeds turn up if the Bradford case has not been resolved by then.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. They wake up in the morning and that's the best they're going to feel all day.
