Yes shawx that incident was true, i saw his face as he came round the corner... Pathetic.
I Cant see why its being aimed at "YOUNGSTERS"... I do agree that the "Hooliganism" Is comming back in rugby, but the thing is that most of the trouble on saturday was cause by a grown man, not a group of youngsters. I thought the young fans were a credit walking back to the station what i saw... Everyone Walking back just taking the stick and staying out of trouble, but if someone hits you then you hit them back. Most of the trouble is caused by Men who need to get a job and grow up a bit. The young fans are the future of the game.
Are our younger fans out of control?

Society has changed and for the worse. Therein it has an impact on sport. The problem is across all the age group but is more evident amongst the young because they now have a greater disposable income, a larger social network and less parental/society influence.
I do think the net has exacerbated supporter rivalry. Especially, RLfans.com and other multi club networks.
An example of a young man brough up in a responsible and caring manner is Danny Binder. I would describe Mike and Mrs B as having old school values. They work hard, they enjoy themselves, they involve their children wherever possible and support them in all their interests. Danny is a well behaved decent young man with a reasonable level of confidence who can engage in light hearted horseplay but is respectful. He is a product of quality parenting. So it is possible even in this day and age.
Mike B is an example of how people used to be. You can joke with Mike. You can tease him. He will laugh at himself. He will tease you back. That is how people should be.
Unfortunately people / families like that have to operate in almost isolation nowadays. The collective community no longer exists and to be fair it has not for decades.
Ask yourselves. What is the quality of life like in Britain today? For all the material gains are we better or worse off? Are we caught up in a system that we have little or no choice but to become part of? Do we have a coherent plan for this country that realises every aspect of life in inter related?

Most of the trouble is outside the grounds, and certainly not due solely to the youngsters. Warrington have always had one of the worst reputations for bother from their fans. I stopped going to Wilderspool ages ago, for that reason, started going again when they moved to Hj in case it had got any better.
Like jj, I won't be going again (even if we're not playing Wire; they were just as bad for the Catalans game).

im 45 i've watched wigan all my life and to be honest i've never enjoyed it as much as i am now, especially when we go to away matches.the atmosphere is great and we've started to really get behind the team in the last couple of years. this is all down to the latest generation of supporters.we don't know who was fighting after the wire game so stop knocking the yongsters, i bet the team would thank them for their backing.as for warrington it made a change staying in the ground after the match , 30 years ago we had to leave 10 minutes early to leg it to greenalls brewery for the coach as their fans always wanted to fight.

I don't think our younger fans are the cause of the problem, from what i have seen they turn up to away games, create the majority of the atmosphere and i have NEVER seen any trouble from them apart from the coin throwing incident at the JJB a few weeks ago and i can only assume, but i don't think this would come from one of the many younger fans who travel to the away games.
I am not saying our fans are totally inocent, in society today more and more younger people are starting to drink and cause trouble ( as we read in the paper nearly every day). So this will enevatably (spelling), lead to some of our younger fans maybe having a bit to much to drink and turning violent/abusive, but i would say this would be a minority as, like i said earlier, i have never seen any trouble from our younger fans unlike the younger fans of other clubs. In all i think our young (and older), supporters are a credit to the club and i look forward to seeing them at huddersfield next week and saints the week after.

Most of the posts on here point the same way idiots come in all ages not just young , CP's post is just about rite the example set is always going to effect your kids behavior . Seeing blokes using every swear word in front of their own children is sickening , how will these kids develop with the lack of respect shown by parents god knows .
At one time my dad would tell people for swearing when I was a kid , with that standard set for me I would never dream of swearing or being disrespectful in front of my kids or anyone else's .
The internet as accelerated the denigration of society , and the multi fan based site forums are full of aggressive and intimidating posts .
We can blame the youngsters but the generations that brought these people who behave badly into the world are to blame and thats all age groups .

Aye, my dad used to do the same and still does it for his grandson.
He swears to but under the breath.
A lot of people have to just accept society isnt what it was and going to the rugby wont simply put you back in time when society was a ncier place.
Saying that I can remember watching wigan and leigh in the 80's and it was a running battle at hilton park. Our youngsters are a credit really as they spend their (or parents) money every week to support their club.

I do two jobs to go and watch wigan every week because i just love going...
Over the last few years society has changed... Now you have all these chavs and "NON fans" Going watching rugby, these are the ones who cause the problems, not the ones that turn up week in week out. Not the ones that dont wear colours. Some of the fans that make the trouble proberbly dont even go to the game.

I remember going to Hilton Park on the bus in the 80's with a gang of lads from my school. I was the only one to turn up with a replica shirt and got the reaction, 'fookin hell, what have you put colours on for'. My schoolmates spent the match in pitched battles with Leigh fans running backwards and forwards along the stand. The bus was attacked on the way home and people on the topdeck took the emergency window out and threw it at the Leythers below. This was the early 80's. I haven't seen anything come close to resembling that since. As someone else has said, the current crop of youngsters are the best group of supporters I can remember us having in the past 30 years.
