Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Can we afford the luxury of Palea'aesina and poor discipline?

Post by jimofwigan »

Palea'aesina one of the hardest hitting players in the league 100% fit and we are lucky if we get 20 min football either side of half Time. Fielden 80% match fit 80 mins football.Something needs to be done. We were told they would work on it last season and nothing has changed.
Discipline on the field is totally unacceptable. Everyone is on Gansons back but he only blew when the players offended. This new off-side rule is not rocket science or a quadratic equation. What part of both feet behind the ref,s do our players not understand. Noble get your finger out and get this team told ----- The rest of rugby league hate us don't make it easy to get us penalised because if they can they will. While I'm having a winge lying on --- if our players want to do,do it first or second tackle ---- Noble why do our players do it on the 4th and 5th tackle. We are a better side than last season and the above weaknesses need to be addressed by our coach quickly or we could be on the wrong side of refferee decisions all this season with lost matches that could of been won.

As cpwigan has said, most of the penalties (by both sides) were unjustifiable. The penalty count was fairly even, just too high, and that's solely down to Ganson.

the only diffrence is we get our penaties in our own 20 and ganson gives them on last tackle attacking, gives us our penalties when least used to us to keep the count even ,hes allways done it

What we do need to think about is bringing Feka on when it suits us. If we start with him and end up defending for 10-15 minutes then we are wasting him.

You bring Feka on when you have field position, when you are likely to score. If you think about that is what Saints did with Roby, Graham and Mauri last year.

the problem with offside is when you see the opposition getting away with it you start creeping forward yourself and then you get nailed by the refs .they need a little bit of leeway on the technical offences.Nobody plays the ball properly now so way blow up after letting it go for 20 mins or so

I think that's what Nobby usually does, but then we lose the ball, or get penalised, and end up defending again.

feka is the biggest let down this season , to big ,no defense, and no bursting runs ,which can lift a side when down .

why was he bought ? does anyone know?

has for ref.....well all i know ganson was sh---ing it after as a few losing fans were waiting near his car ,and had to escorted to his car by officials, lol

Did you see the props we had before he came... Seu seu and Guisset. We needed some real Power. If he comes off the bench he will be a much better player, But an expensive bench warmer.

Guissett, despite my reservations, proved to be a more than capable prop! Much better than Mestov, Malam, Pongia, Goldspink, Lee Hansen et all!
