Is it not time we raised this a bit?
Top English Union clubs' salary caps are going up to £4 million from next year and as their current £2.2million threshold is policed about as well as a Hull match, this effectively means they can afford to throw even more money in League's direction. I know Chev, Karl and Big Les are doing their best to make our players seem unattractive propositions, but do we really want to become a nursery for the other code?
Come on RFL, give us a bit more leeway. Exemptions for young players is long overdue and how about one exemption per team for making raids on Union? There are plenty of Union stars who will never become England or other team regulars, so if offering one a contract didn't count it would a)fight fire with fire b)make the transfer market more interesting and c)Help the squad & the competition
