Noble
Re: Noble
If you listen to the latest podcast from the official site Noble says he wants to stay to see what he has built so far progress. He also says he is in discussion with IL about a contract.
Odds on he will be our coach for a few years yet unless the contract terms can't be agreed which I think would be unlikely.

Sorry DaveO I hadn't seen that you had commented on Nobby's ongoing contract, I've put it on the warriors forumDaveO wrote:If you listen to the latest podcast from the official site Noble says he wants to stay to see what he has built so far progress. that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Why have you moved this to the rumour mill? The thread began with the rumour that Nobby had been linked to Newcastle not about his wanting to stay here. I have apologised to DaveO who mentioned it towards the end of this thread

Re: Noble
Isn't this all just conjecture? I thought Noble signed a four year deal when he came to us?

I hope it’s sorted out as soon as possible and Nobby stays. He’s a top coach and has already made a fantastic difference to Wigan in the two-and-a-half years he’s been here – on the pitch and off it.
Those who says he’s one-dimensional or has no “Plan B†are as entitled to their opinion as I am, so I’m not knocking them, just disagreeing,by saying they are wrong in my opinion. So far this season the weather has been dreadful and the pitches therefore the same. You do not have the same tactics for those kind of conditions as you do for dry weather and firm pitches. Luckily for us, we have a coach who recognises that and a team with the flair to play more expansive rugby when the time is right.
And if you think Nobby’s is solely a “bash up the middle of the park†coach, I can only refer you to the Leeds game. The tactics there were to move the ball about and create space to make use of our forwards’ better mobility on a pitch that at least wasn’t a quagmire for once. If anyone saw Tony Rea’s analysis of Nobby’s tactics in that game on Boots ‘N All they’ll know what I mean.
All of this has left us second in the table, four points off top, having beaten the World Club Champions on the way. Those who are grizzling about the lack of champagne rugby should ask themselves where we would be now if we’d tried to play that way in the weather conditions and on the pitches that we have faced so far.
Either way, by the end of the season we’ll see who is right about Nobby, his tactics and his ability to bring the best out of players, won’t we?
