sounds like a plan, lockyer is too old now and injured so what would we get a seaosn at the most so whats the point in wasting the salary cap money for a one hit wonder. although he stil does have the skills he's not what he used to be and we need someone like Brough to be able to grow into the role at wigan and provide some attacking threatsma1ex wrote:Stuff Lockyer. Lets try and approach Brough now we have lost dobson and get someone for the franchise for the first three years, any thoughts?

If we were going to pay him stop gap money that would be fine - however Lockyer won't come here for the scenery he will expect to be the highest earner at the club - if not all of super league.pieaddict wrote:If its only going be a stop gap for a year until coyle ready for first team then maybe darren will be an idea. Ok hes past his best and got a knee dodgier than walker from dads army but if it mean coyle is introduced into the team more, while the knee is nursed on the touch line, and coached from a player who was one of the best it may be worth a shot.
Just a though even if a bit against most people views
However good he was - he simply is not worth the money now

Tomkins will not get the chance then no matter how good they prove. How many youngsters have edged out first teamers under Noble?medlocke wrote:and what if Tomkins fails like those that have come before him?, we are in the same transitional period yet again, bring Brough in now, if Tomkins is a good as some say then he will come to the fore, why take a risk on an overpaid injury prone has beenpedro wrote:We need a stop gap for Tomkins.....Someone with 1-2 years left in them
He doesnt give them a chance..waits for an injury or ban throws them in at the deepend then casts them back inot the reserves.
Ive said it before in pre season Ainscough demolished Topou and Bradford had to take him off due to him being totally outclassed. Season starts and bam Mathers straight into team when fit and Colbon keeping his place.

Good
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

How long a contract has Brough taken up with Wakefield.
Speaking to a Cats fan in Palma airport last week, he was not confident that they would get selected for a franchise.
Brough wouls surely chose security if that was the case.

Nobody knows how the franchise will affect the "smaller" clubs, especially those that have problems regarding the quality of their stadium, however if it came to a choice between Cas and Wakey, I feel that Wakey would get in on the " contributing to the competition" rule easily above Cas.Panchitta Marra wrote:How long a contract has Brough taken up with Wakefield.

Also Brough seem a fairly loyal type of bloke, he stayed at Cas when they got relegated, he obviously plays well under Kear's management/coaching and more importantly, it was said several times on SKY over the weekend that the reason Wakefield are playing such good, entertaining rugby, is that John Kear allows the players to play their natural game.
Does Noble? The evidence would suggest not.
I can't see Danny Brough coming to the JJB
