If it was any team but the Aussie's they would have been out of business.

Not true.

Gateshead were sacrificed to save Hull and Sheffield to save Huddersfield.

While what has gone on with London is not right IMO you can hardly say what has gone one before is much different.

True, DaveO, but the RFL have been making such a fuss over clubs' finances in the last few years, with 'Framing the Future' and salary capping, in order to prevent similar examples happening again. Clearly it hasn't worked.
The 'removal' of the debt is peculiar enough, but then to allow them to sign Vinnie Andersen for 3 years, who won't exactly be cheap, is bizarre.
