MELBOURNE Storm enforcer Michael Crocker has been granted a release from the final year of his contract and will move to the English Super League at the end of 2008.
Crocker has signed with Hull FC for three years and will move to England at the end of the year.
The 27-year-old has never been beaten in a Storm jersey - his amazing streak currently standing at 29 matches.
Crocker was contracted until the end of 2009 but has always expressed concerns about his body lasting the distance in the NRL.
They must think we only play touch rugby in Super League
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
I think it still holds true but Melbourne have never lost a match in which Croker has played. He is a current origin and international rep player and has played certainly origin quite regularly.
No flash harry, just tough as with subtle rugby skills.
It will be interesting to see if the campaign to raise or kill the salary cap gathers momentum in the NRL. Giteau gets $1.2 million from the A.R.U whereas the highest paid NRLplayers receive $500,000
He can't be that good if the storm don't want him anymore (or does that only apply to players that we sign who stop your beloved Stanton/S Tomkins coming through)
